Bird Shooting
Cazatur is your best option to enjoy shooting red-legged partridge, it is considered one of the most challenging birds in the world. Test your shooting ability on thousands of partridges that will fly over your head every day. Get ready to fill your bird bag with shots you’ll never forget. You will love hunting partridges under blue skies and in pleasant temperatures. The shot at the red partridge is carried out in four or five drives a day. In each drive, there is a special moment of extreme action, always shoot in front of you and never behind.
This activity can be practiced in 3 different places:
- Castle of Ventosilla
At Cazatur we have the privilege of having the shooting ranges of the Castillo de Ventosilla. It is located just 20 minutes from the beautiful and imperial city of Toledo and an hour’s drive from Madrid. It was built in the 16th century with the aim of serving as a hunting lodge for wealthy cardinals in Spain. From this beautiful setting you can shoot the famous shoots of the red legged partridge.
This castle has been renovated and modernized to become the best shooting operation in Spain. It has 14 suite-type rooms, where you can enjoy a peaceful rest after an intense day of shooting. In addition, it has an excellent chef who will make you enjoy authentic delicacies and you will taste the best Spanish wines.
- Estate Daramazan
The Daramazan estate is only 15 minutes from the Castle of Ventosilla. It has magnificent views of the countryside from its large windows and an exquisite decoration that deserves to be seen by all its guests, highlighting above all the collection of game birds from Spain distributed throughout the estate. Its owner is Juan Matossian Osorio, Count of La Torre, nephew of the Duque of Alburquerque, and it has 7 double rooms with private bathrooms.
It has a central heating system and several fireplaces that, in addition to providing heat, give a charming touch to the decoration of the house.
- Quintanar Palace
It is located very close to the city of Segovia, just 12 km. and one hour from Madrid by car. The current Marquis of Quintanar destines this emblematic place to the shooting of birds such as red-legged partridges, fighting bulls and agriculture. It provides maximum comfort thanks to its suite-type rooms and serves an excellent food and wine list.
Spain
Spain is, without a doubt, an ideal place not only to hunt, but also to enjoy a wide variety of tourist activities. In addition to its big game trophy opportunities for hunters, it provides beautiful natural surroundings. You’ll be able to visit the central plains and coastal ranges, rising from the Mediterranean shores, to the lush, velvety-green northern highlands, shyly dwarfing the Cantabrian and Pyrenean mountains.
It is, therefore, a perfect destination for any hunter to take a travel companion who is not dedicated to hunting. Hunting is deeply rooted in Spanish culture. He highlights his unique way of hunting, but always respects European traditions. Its cultural heritage is extraordinary, both the hunter and his non-hunter travel companion will be able to enjoy it in their spare time.
With Cazatur, you will be able to hunt in the areas with the highest quality of trophies and on private properties, but also in all the hunting reserves of the state. 4×4 vehicles are used to reach the areas and will then be hunted on foot or from high seats if necessary. Horses are also used in certain areas. You will have the help of a hunting guide daily.
There are two different hunting seasons in Spain, one in spring and the other in the fall. The spring season is from April to July. During those months you can hunt Pyrenean and Cantabrian chamois, roe deer, Ibex, and wild boar, as well as mouflon sheep in some areas.
Fall hunting season runs from September to mid-February. You will be amazed by the spectacular roar of the red deer, from mid-September to mid-October, followed by the growl of the fallow deer and the rutting time of the mouflon sheep. The month of November is the best for the rutting period of the Ibex, as well as for chamois.
