JOHN BREEDLOVE, TX:
It was a great, challenging and enjoyable 3 days shoot! The accommodation at the Ventosilla Castle, as well as all the meals, staff and everything were beyond our expectations! Eduardo thank you very much and looking forward to next year´s!
For several years, Eduardo Araoz, owner of CAZATUR-SPAIN, has been offering to its exclusive shooting clientele the privilege of using the Ventosilla Castle its shooting grounds, for the world famous driven red legged partridge shoots. The Castle, located twenty minutes from the ancient, original Roman Imperial city of Toledo and one hour drive from Madrid, your point of arrival, was built in the 16th century, as a hunting retreat for the wealthy and powerful Cardinals in Spain of Toledo. It has been enlarged and updated by the subsequent generations of the same family, offering todays best shooting organization in Spain, as said by out shooters in our testimonials book.
Ventosilla Castle, was the first estate in Spain to organize driven shoots for red legged partridges back in 1864, by the Duke of Santona. His son the Count of Teba, nephew of HRH Queen Elisabeth II from England, continued the tradition which now has been inherited by his grandsons, who as in the past arrange these shoots with the same greatness and elegance. The Castle offers 14 Suite type rooms, for the shooter and non-shooters to enjoy a comfortable rest. The Castle chef, and wine selection are second to none.
DARAMAZAN @ VENTOSILLA INTRODUCTION:
The Daramazan Estate, together with other lands in Toledo came into the V Count of Villaumbrosa who married with Teresa Spinola and Colonna the III Marquee of Balbases, portraited by Velazquez the master painter from Seville, in the painting of -Las Lanzas- The redemption of Breda. The lady who carried the title of X countess of Villaumbrosa marries the XV Duke of Alburquerque, and the title has stayed in the Osorio family since. Today the XXI, duke of Alburquerque is the Daramazan Estate landlords first cousin, as is the XIV countess of Villaumbrosa.
At the accommodation we are using in Daramazan owned by Juan Osorio Matossian, count of La Torre, there are 7 double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The house enjoys a fantastic view of the countryside as each living room and bedroom has large windows to enjoy it. The catering while shooters enjoy Daramazan, will be the same as at Ventosilla Castle, as both are only 15 minutes apart. The exquisite decoration of every space in the house, needs to be investigated by our guests, especially the fine collection of game birds from Spain spread out through the house. The furniture, the linens, and all in the restrooms, has specifically been chosen, for the comfort of the eye. The house is fully equipped with central heating system and the various fire places will be on to add charm and comfort.

Nowadays, and following the inherited tradition, the actual Marquis of Quintanar is still intended to the same purposes ever: bird shooting for red legged partridges, fighting bulls and agriculture.
