Cazatur & Ventosilla

For several years, Eduardo Araoz, owner of CAZATUR-SPAIN, has been offering to its exclusive shooting clientele the privilege of using the Ventosilla Castle and its shooting grounds, for the world famous driven red legged partridge shoots.

CAZATUR for more than 10 years now, is bringing shooters to the Ventosilla Castle from the American market. Cazatur has also received by this agreement, permission of the use of the VENTOSILLA MANOR, as accommodation in case the Castle is booked beforehand by repeat shooters. The MANOR is within the Castle shooting grounds, so there is no additional driving to shoot from this facility. The same service is provided as if you will be staying at the Castle, all in a more relaxed (if possible), atmosphere. The MANOR has 6 double rooms with indoor facilities, a dining room, living room and a fully catered bar.

Ventosilla Castle was the first estate in Spain to organize driven shoots for red legged partridges back in 1864, by the Duke of Santona. His son the Count of Teba, nephew of HRH Queen Elisabeth II from England, continued the tradition which now has been inherited by his grandsons, who as in the past, arrange this shoots with the same greatness and elegance.

The Castle, located twenty minutes from the ancient, original Roman Imperial city of Toledo and one hour drive from Madrid, your point of arrival, was built in the 16th century, as a hunting retreat for the wealthy and powerful Cardinals in Spain of Toledo. It has been enlarged and updated by the subsequent generations of the same family.  The Castle and its gardens have been designed by the famous landscape designer Forestier, providing a backdrop that guarantees an unforgettable shooting day.

Eduardo Araoz has known the Teba family since childhood, and as a result has been able to secure annually, several shooting days at this exclusive estate which is always fully booked a year in advance. Today, the Castle conducts over 100 shooting days for an average of 875 birds a day. CAZATUR, gets yearly less than 20 shooting days back to back, to book in 2, or 3 shooting days programs. Therefore you cannot wait too long to confirm your presence at one of our open shooting dates.

This and much more is what we can offer you. Envelope yourself in the tradition depicted the famous portrait, “Hunter shooting birds”, painted by the master painter Francisco de Goya in the 18th century, we use as cover for our brochure.

Join us as a single shooter or with one or more of your shooting friends on any of our open dates. Let us exceed your expectations as we did for those who have shoot with us in the past. Please enjoy the photographs in the rest of this presentation, exploring it at why CAZATUR is your best choice.
